Perhaps it doesn't come as huge surprise that vast majority of NKCCluster users have been radio hams for more than 10 years. In the era of smart-phones, seamless Internet access and always-on social media, most amateur radio associations around the world seem to be struggling with attracting newcomers to the hobby.
Still, even in these (admittedly very non-scientific) results there is a glimmer of hope. Some 10% of the users have joined radio-amateur ranks in the past 5 years. Perhaps most excitingly there are a few users who aren’t even radio-amateurs yet, who presumably use this application to get a taste of what amateur radio is all about!
